Hi! My name is Leeann and I started hosting Culinary Movie Nights, February 2024, when I decided to surprise my husband for our anniversay with his favorite cozy film, The Fellowship of the Ring. I had seen a few videos on social media of companies that do similar events, but unfortunatly they were not in our area or budget. I thought to myself, “I can do that”. I often get myself in trouble with that thought, but luckily it worked out this time!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\nMaking food for people always brought me joy from as early as I can remember. Baking in the kitchen with my mom and licking the batter was one of my favorite pastimes. When I started baking by myself, I discovered I loved the feeling of surprising people with my creations. It made me happy to see my friends lightup when I brought baked goods to school and, in later years, work. I often woke up at the crack of dawn to bake things fresh. Am I crazy? Maybe… But sweet treats made everyone’s day better so it was worth being a little tired. Cooking became a way for me to take care of the people I love. When my grandmother started losing weight, I would make her fried chicken and hearty meals to fatten her up. It was something I was good at and it filled me with purpose.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
I never expected that my Culinary Movie Nights would amount to anything. I wasn’t even planning on finishing The Lord of the Rings trilogy. It was only ever meant to be a gift for my husband that maybe we would make an annual tradition. So, when I posted the video on my little bookstagram for Middle Earth March, I never expected it to go viral. To give some perspective, my other reels would get around 30-50 likes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\nPeople started reaching out to me, wanting more movie nights. The people pleaser in me, who used to wake up at the crack of dawn to bake for people, couldn’t resist. While it was never intentional to continue this series, I am so glad I listen to the people! I have had so much fun creating themed dishes from iconic movies for my friends, family and all of you. I’m so grateful for all the support I’ve receieved and it truly makes me happy every time someone reaches out and tells me they were inspired by my Culinary Movie Nights.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
