Microwave for 30 seconds, stir well, and microwave for another 15 seconds. Keep stirring well in between microwaving in 15-second increments. It’s important not to overheat and burn.

When your chocolate is completely melted, dip each washed and dried strawberry in the chocolate and place on a parchment paper-covered plate. Refrigorate for about 10 minutes.

While the strawberries are in the refrigerator, make your fake blood. In the movie Scream, they reference using corn syrup as fake blood, so that’s what we’re doing.

Add 1/4 cup of corn syrup to a small bowl. Add 1 drop of blue food coloring and 12 drops of red food coloring. Stir and then slowly add 1/2 a tablespoon of cornstarch to thicken. Mix well so there are no clumps.

Once your strawberries are cooled, dip your fingers in the fake blood and splatter the blood on the strawberries. This got messy, so do it over the sink and be prepared to wipe off the counter and walls after. LOL! These can be stored in the refrigerator until you’re ready to eat.

Popcorn

You can, of course, make your life easier by buying popcorn from the store. But, if you want to make kettle corn on the stove, kind of like in the movie, here is my go-to recipe! Also, to match the popcorn in the movie, I served it in aluminum foil.

Instructions:

1. Pour enough ghee into your pot to coat the bottom. You need enough oil to LIGHTLY cover the entire bottom.

2. Add only three popcorn kernels, put the pot lid on and turn your burner on to high heat (I place the heat to 8 out of 10 on my burner).

3. Wait for the three kernels to pop. This takes a minute or two. This lets you know the oil is ready.

4. Next, add your kernels, salt and optional brown sugar. The amount you add will depend on the size of the pot you use. I recommend adding enough to cover half of the bottom of your pot. You can control the amount of salt you want. I usually do a generous three-finger pinch. If you’re adding sugar, I recommend brown sugar and letting it sit in the freezer a few minutes before. I find brown sugar burns slower, and freezing it slows down the burning process even more.

5. Place the lid back on the pot and shake the pot every few seconds. It only takes a few minutes for your popcorn to finish popping so you need to babysit it. I find shaking it every 5 seconds or so keeps the popcorn from burning and makes sure the majority of the kernels pop.

IMPORTANT – Make sure when you shake the pot, the lid is secure, and if any oil leaks through the lid, wipe it before placing the pot back on the burner.

Ghostface Calzones

These calzones were very easy to throw together!
